My name is Brian Dickie … I’m presently living in the north side of Chicago … What’s going on in my life now? … I’m kind of all over the place … I’ve got a very busy job at a concert venue on the north side of Chicago … and then … I do photo shoots and TV work … whenever that happens … and a couple of other hobbies on the side … At the music club … I manage the place … I do security there … I’m usually the last one out at night … Do I get to meet the bands? … Yeah … whenever the opportunity arrises … sure … It’s usually just working with their people though … Do I help them set up their lights? … equipment? … It could be … Or … it could be getting them in and out of the place ok … Or … it could be making sure they have everything they need … Will I be involved in this for the foreseeable future? … I think so … Yeah … it’s been good to me … One of my favorite things about the job … I think … It might be a show … or a band … that I might either … have never heard about … or care for … or I’m indifferent about … but you can tell when … it’s just the most important night to people that are in your place … you can just see it on their faces … they’ve had the ticket for a year … they’re excited … It’s a Wednesday shift for me … but it’s been on their calendar for a minute … There’s just little moments that the public doesn’t get to see … backstage … or in the hallways … Those are the things that stick with me the most I think … The downside? (laughter) … The hours … The schedule is tough … I think there’s three weeks in the winter where I don’t see the sun … just  because … you went to bed and it was still dark … and you get up … and it’s dark again … The hours … The weather … those are pretty much the biggest ones … Some of my hobbies … I’m really into collecting Star Wars Legos … Which is pretty much … since Neo went away … I’ve just kind of found … it’s probably the one thing that I’m kind of Rain Man about … Just … Yeah … (laughter) … I put them all together … It’s taking over my apartment (laughter) … It’s just … I do that … for a couple of hours … just put something together … that I happen to know a lot about and like … I think when Neo closed … I had like three or four of them just on the side … a fun little hobby … and ever since then … it’s probably the one thing that I throw too much money at … It keeps me sane … Have things changed … as far as social attitudes and awareness in clubs? … I think there’s two kinds of clubs … the ones that have to kind of catch up to the way things are … and the ones that have been kind of doing it … the way things are now … all along … I don’t think that … as we progress through the times … I don’t think any of our actions have been forced … like … now you have to do this … because well … we have been doing this … Or … you have to do this a certain way … it’s like … we’ve been doing it these three different ways … Where as I see some venues just trying to catch up to gender neutral policies … or harassment policies … you see a lot of businesses scrambling … trying to catch up to what’s just common sense … I think anyone who’s an asshole in a club now … is going to have been an asshole ten years ago … they’re just going to be that way … I don’t think it has anything to do with what year we’re in … they’re going to be shitty regardless … Do I have any plans to travel? … Oh yeah … I’ve got a buddy in Philadelphia I see not enough … I’m going to try to go there this winter … My folks were doing the snowbird Florida thing … now there doing the snowbird Arizona thing … I’ll probably get out there … this winter … Yeah … I’m always dying to go back to Europe … As far as my television work … I’ve done a couple of episodes of Chicago P.D. … They like arresting me … And a movie … They’re remaking … or continuing I should say … the horror movie from the 80’s … 90’s … The Candyman … they’re working on that in town … and I got a couple of days on that … a couple months ago … I’m not a bad guy in that … I’m just in an art gallery … I don’t get killed … no … (laughter) … no … I make it out … The first one took place around Cabrini Green … which doesn’t exist anymore … and that’s kind of in this movie … they bring up the gentrification … and what are we doing to our … well … Cabrini Green had to go … but … what did we put in it’s place … That’s definitely … and you only pick up so much on set … they’re  only working on a small part of the script at that time … you don’t get to see the whole thing … because you’re just in a couple of scenes … but … it seems like … that was a part of the movie … which  is … what happened to that old neighborhood … I was initially … “A remake … do we need another Candyman?” … and they were like … “No … it’s a continuation” … It plays off the really really good … original movie … It’s not a remake … or a rehash … so I felt better … once I was in the project and I could see what we were doing … As far as modeling for photography … I’ve got my wish list of people I want to work with … but … five years ago it was …”Let me shoot with you … Let me shoot with you … Let me shoot with you … Let me shoot with you” … Now its just … I’ll do it when I want to do it … people find me through social networking … or just word of mouth …
